Our association was started in 2021 by Julien “Pica” Herry who, after countless expeditions to Pakistan since 2007, decided to extend his gratitude to the local people of the Karakoram in his own style, by sharing his love for the mountains and helping them reach new heights.

Tonnes of equipment / year
Since then, we’ve managed to collect and send an average of 4 tonnes of equipment every year, thanks to the support of our incredible partners and crowdfunders.

XX associations were started in Pakistan and are now Zom Connection Affiliate Organizations, through which our equipment and programs are distributed
Community
To generate positive and lasting impact, we have catalyzed the emergence of a strong and beautiful community of outdoor enthusiasts :
Select members of the community are invited to join our annual professional expeditions as athletes or production staff (photo, video, medic, etc.)
Aspiring ski and snowboard instructors are invited by Zom Connection to attend the XXX certificate course, in partnership with the Malam Jabba Ski Resort
Our activities are structured around 3 pillars:
— Equipment supply
Partnerships with outdoor companies to collect unsold equipment donations
Collection campaigns in Chamonix to give outdoors equipment a second life
Packaging and shipping of equipment from Chamonix to Islamabad
— Knowledge sharing
Inclusive acclimatization with professional expeditions
Annual ski and snowboarding training camps
Performance, safety and mountain information exchange groups
— Grants funding
Starting in 2025, Zom Connection have set up a grant program for ambitious, original member-led projects. Learn more here
